Aims and Scope

Journal of Manufacturing Innovations (JOMI) features original articles on experimental, theoretical, and computational aspects of materials manufacturing. The journal focuses on the design and modification of processing techniques to improve microstructure, properties, and performance. Materials covered by the journal include metals, alloys, ceramics, composites, biomaterials, intermetallics, and nanostructured materials. This journal aims to publish scholar literature with a view to advancing state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and encouraging innovation for developing new and efficient processes. The contents of the journal are classified into three parts: Regular Paper, Short Communication (Letter), and Review Paper.

Papers relevant to the scope of JOMI include, but are not limited to advanced manufacturing processes, including the following subjects:

  • Additive and precision manufacturing processes;
  • Casting, forming, and molding processes;
  • Severe plastic deformation;
  • Powder metallurgy;
  • Solid state reactions;
  • Heat treatment and thermo-mechanical processes;
  • Manufacturing process monitoring, control, and automation;
  • Surface engineering;
  • Micro- and nano-fabrication;
  • Manufacturing planning, optimization, and simulation;
  • Welding and joining processes;
  • Green manufacturing.
